Why Well Water Testing Is Required

Mortgage lenders, particularly VA and FHA, require proof that a home’s drinking water is safe. This means the water must be tested for common health risks such as:

  • Total Coliform Bacteria

  • E. coli

  • Nitrates & Nitrites

  • Lead

If any of these contaminants are present, treatment or repairs may be required before the loan can be finalized.
